Personal financing
Personal loans with the whole cost in view
A fixed amount, a fixed schedule and a total cost you can see before you sign. Suitable for planned expenses, not for closing a gap that keeps reopening.
What a personal loan is
A personal loan is an unsecured agreement: you receive a single amount and repay it in regular instalments over an agreed term. The instalment covers both the capital and the cost of credit, so the balance falls with every payment.
Because the loan is unsecured, no asset is pledged as security. That does not make it low risk. The obligation to repay is personal, and missed payments carry consequences for your credit standing.
What people use it for
Home improvement
Renovation, insulation, a new kitchen or repairs with a defined budget and end date.
A vehicle
Buying privately, where financing through the seller is unavailable or less suitable.
Education and training
Course fees or professional qualifications with a known total cost.
Consolidating balances
Replacing several commitments with one, where the total cost genuinely improves.
A planned major expense
A one-off cost you have budgeted for and can repay on a fixed schedule.
Bridging a known gap
A short, defined period between a committed cost and a confirmed inflow.
How it works in practice
Four things determine the shape of your agreement, and they interact:
- The amount — what you actually need, rather than the maximum available.
- The term — a longer term lowers the instalment and raises the total cost.
- The rate — set after assessment, fixed or variable depending on the product.
- Your circumstances — income, existing commitments and credit history.

Personal loan questions
How much can I borrow?
The amount depends on affordability, income, existing commitments and the applicable rules in your jurisdiction. It is set after assessment, and it may be lower than the amount requested.
Is the rate fixed?
It depends on the product offered. A fixed rate keeps the instalment stable for the whole term; a variable rate can move. Which applies to you is stated in your pre-contractual information.
Can I repay early?
Early repayment is generally possible. Depending on the agreement and the applicable law, the lender may be entitled to compensation for part of the cost of credit. The conditions are set out in your agreement before you sign.
What happens if I miss a payment?
Contact us before the payment is due, not after. Missed payments can lead to charges, are usually reported to credit reference agencies, and make future borrowing harder. Where difficulties are raised early, options can usually be discussed.
Can I change the payment date?
Requests to change a payment date are considered case by case, subject to the terms of your agreement.
Will you contact my employer?
Verification steps are explained to you in advance, and no verification requiring a third party takes place without your knowledge.
